Mr. Bill our Technology Coordinator started buying Brenthaven keyboard cases to replace the Logitech cases this past fall. The Logitech cases were contracted by the Maine DOE as bundled with new iPads. However the quality of the cases was lacking due to intermittent keyboard function failures and inability to clean the fabric surfaces.
After purchasing several from Brenthaven, the company solicited 30 schools nationwide to apply for the $25,000 award. The company wanted a testimonial video. Mr. Bill applied and Jefferson Village School was chosen to participate. The company sent 20 cases at no charge. At this point there were enough for all the 8th graders to use them. He put together a 10 question survey. After several weeks, the students filled out the review questionnaire. The script was collaborated with Mr. Bartlett, 2 students and myself. The video was recorded by one of the students. Mr. Bill then submitted the required testimony. A couple of weeks later he received an email that JVS won the national competition!!

Wear Purple!

In Mrs. Richmond's, Art Class, teams of students each got a box of "junk" consisting of things like straws, plastic containers, pieces of wood, wire, etc. They had to work as a group and choose to make either a free-standing bird or a dragon.
Here are some photos of the creation process and the final products.
