In Kindergarten PE, spring training has begun! Students have been learning about batting, fielding, and running the bases.
They are practicing how to hold the bat, where to stand, and how to swing. They’re also learning proper fielding techniques by getting in front of the ball and staying low to the ground.
To wrap it all together, students practiced base running by playing base tag—learning which direction to run and taking turns being “out” and switching roles.
Great work, Kindergarten athletes!
NCS had a special visitor last week!
Tenlee Wallace, the 2025 Little Miss Maine Wild Blueberry Princess, visited as part of the Read ME program hosted by the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District. She read the colorful and informational picture book I Love Blueberries! to students in kindergarten through grade 3.
Hailing from Friendship, Tenlee was crowned at last year’s Union Fair and proudly represents Maine’s blueberry industry. She spent several hours touring classrooms with her parents, including her mom, NCS Counselor Natasha Wallace.
