Welcome to winter all! Please make sure your child has appropriate outside gear for school - coats, hats, mittens, boots, and snow pants for the snow! Feel free to reach out to us with any needs or questions. November is a great month for learning! As a reminder, please make sure to schedule your child's conference with their grade-level teacher. Parent Teacher Conferences are November 19th and 20th and in some cases the 24th.

Congratulations to Ellie Bartrug, Noelle Vinal, and Soley Beausang for making the District 3 Honors Band.
Accompanied by Ms. Plummer, the girls traveled to Cony High School last Thursday to audition, after months of preparation. Although challenging, the girls displayed their outstanding talent and were selected to join. We look forward to their performance at Hall-Dale Middle School in April. Way to go Lady Lions!!
Earlier this fall, our 7th graders spent time in social studies learning about Native American life, including how to build a real wigwam.
Students in kindergarten at NCS have been practicing yoga with Ms. Plummer on Tuesday afternoons. Yoga has been shown to help students with concentration as well as focus. All of the yoga sessions end with quiet meditation and mindfulness. Everyone has shown great improvement with flexibility and balance after only one month.

We are excited to announce that we are once again celebrating this season of gratitude with NCS’s annual Thanksgiving Feast. The community-building tradition of the Thanksgiving Feast brings families of students in grades K-4 into the building for a traditional sit-down Thanksgiving dinner prepared by our fabulous kitchen staff and served during the school day with the help of 8th graders and NCS staff.
