Dear Families,

As we reach the end of another school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we've shared at NCS.  I am immensely proud of our students for their hard work, curiosity, and perseverance.  They have embraced learning with enthusiasm, adapted to new routines, and supported one another in ways that exemplify the spirit of our school.  Their achievements are a direct reflection of the guidance and encouragement they receive at home and of the dedication from their talented teachers here at school.

One of my favorite highlights of the year was the 8th grade outing club trip to Kineo which I was fortunate enough to be on as a leader along with several other NCS staff.  Those 3 days in the wilderness with the graduating class left me feeling even more certain that our work here of providing students from Kindergarten to 8th grade meaningful experiences in addition to academic experiences is key to building strong communities.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall, ready to embark on another exciting year of learning and growth.

Wishing you a joyful, safe, and restful summer full of meaningful experiences!

Warm regards,

Adam Bullard

8th gradeCongratulations to our amazing group of eighth graders. You make NCS proud! We look forward to hearing about all your successes in the future.

1111What's the highlight of the year for a 6th grader you ask???? The trip to Hurricane Island of course. Students enjoy 2 nights and 3 days on the island delving into a variety of environmental sciences, while adding in some fun team building exercises. This years trip was no exception, with beautiful weather and a great group of kids and chaperones.

If you ask us, time spent with Mrs. Woodward and Mrs. Stevens is always fun. But to finish out the year, they took it up a notch, treating this group of young learners to popcorn and games.

We have a winner!! Carolyn Cunningham's poem "The Robin" was selected as the winning poem in the Skidompha Library Children's Poetry Contest. Carolyn's poem will be published in the libraries newsletter, and she was presented with the wonderful book of poetry "Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright!". Congratulations Carolyn!

Once a Lion always a Lion. Students lined the halls last week, congratulating past NCS students for completing their high school careers. We were elated when asked to host the meaningful albeit quick return of these familiar faces, and hope to have created a new NCS tradition.

Spring sports season was a great success at NCS this year with Baseball ending their season with a record of 9 wins, 3 losses and a tie; and with Softball closing out their season with a record of 9 wins and 3 losses. Both teams made it to the Busline League Semi-Finals but fell short in two very exciting games. A huge thank you to all the coaches and volunteers that worked hard with our teams this spring! GO LIONS!!

Another year comes to a close here at NCS and as always we went out with a bang. Thank you to Mrs. York for setting up an amazing Field Day for the students and staff, the Nobleboro Fire Dept for keeping us cool, and PTO members for lending a hand. Watch NCS Field Day 2024 for a glimpse at our wild and wet send off.
