Have a great weekend!

Kindergarten is learning how to look closely with magnifying glasses and write like scientists. Today our 4th grade buddies helped us dissect owl pellets. We drew and labeled the bones we discovered!

4th Graders enjoyed a movie as a reward for great behavior. They filled a jar with enough Cougar “Paws” for celebration.

Sarah and Angela from Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust teamed up with Mr Sal and Ms Tracy’s third graders to learn about what animals do to prepare for winter.

Check out the Open Campus Night!

Mr Coleman's class cutting carrots at FARMS Kitchen, and at HVNC identify types of lichen on trees.

Ms Tracy’s class headed over to the Shell Midden to learn about why this location made a good home for the Wabanaki. We learned about what a shell midden is and how that area has changed over the years. Then we played a game to help us prepare for winter if we had to live off the land.

4th students engaged in a STEM lesson led by Owls Head Museum.

The third and 3/4 multiage braved the earling morning and drizzle to arrive at GSB for 5:40am to participate in Weather at Your School with meteorologist from Channel 8 Ted McInenery. The students learned the behind the scenes of what happens during the weather report and made it on the news. Then Ted joined the students for a weather and climate lesson in the classroom. Huge shout out to the parents who got their students to school for this event.

6th graders created an experiment to study how water evaporates during the water cycle!

Yup... musical chairs. 🤣
(There may be video... 🫢 🫣)

5th graders using area model and the partial products method to do multi-digit multiplication, and sitting together for reading time.

5th graders singing karaoke in the "Funky Friday" lunch group in Mrs. Colby's room!

GSB 7th graders took a field trip to the Frances Perkins Center for Art!

Does your child have a uniform from last year or previous years? If so, GSB would greatly appreciate its return. This would help us avoid ordering all new uniforms.

Some of our 6th graders earned an opportunity to explore Space with VR, which was a perfect wrap-up of our Solar System unit!
