Before break, Fifth and Second Grade students worked together to create origami gingerbread houses. The holiday project that used teamwork and getting to know students in different classes was a really fun art project! - Mrs. Cough






First graders are learning all about the polar bear during science. We are learning about how polar bears survive in the cold weather, what polar bears eat, and the arctic food chain.

The 8th graders toured Lincoln Academy and learned about all of the unique programs and learning opportunities they can access in high school, like robotics! - Ms. Peaco



Recently, fourth graders learned about shield and cone volcanoes. They conducted an experiment to determine which type of volcano has thicker lava and which type of volcano has thinner lava. The findings? Cone volcanoes have thicker lava which leads to the entrapment of gases and more explosive eruptions. - Ms. Winchenbach

BCS Coin Slam 24-25!


Due to the inclement weather forecast of high winds, heavy rain, and poor visibility, we will postpone the holiday concert to Thursday 12/12 at 5:30 PM.

Dec. 10, 2024 PTO meeting has been postponed to next month.

The Music and Art Celebration with grades PreK-5 is Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30.


Kindergarten students examined owl pellets with Mrs. Pendleton and Mr. Crafts as a concluding activity for their exploration of owls in our K for ME unit.






In art, students are illustrating songs they are singing in the winter concert. Their art will be on display in the gym for viewing before and after the show. Pictured are third graders doing winter landscape collages and fourth graders painting a background for a class mural. -Mrs. Cough






Maine author Lynn Plourde recently visited BCS . Her engaging presentations included Add-on stories, Problem stories and creating the graphic novel about Donn Fendler’s survival story.
