Grades 2-6 welcomed Louisa Crane to speak in their classrooms earlier this month. Louisa came to talk about the importance of our soil. Students participated in an interactive lesson about what we find in our soil and why it’s important to conserve and protect our soil. Ms. Crane shared information with the students about the 2026 Annual Conservation Poster Contest sponsored by the Knox-Lincoln Soil Conservation District. This year’s theme is, Soil. Where it all Begins. Students were given the contest guidelines in class and we look forward to seeing their entries. -Mrs. Arzate

Last week our 8th graders visited the Bath Regional Career and Technical Center. Each student was able to choose from the 11 different programs they offer in order to visit and learn more about specific vocations they might be interested in pursuing during their junior and senior years of high school. Students were very engaged in all the hands on learning and thinking about their futures. -Mrs. Brinkler

Sixth graders made color wheels, mixed as many different colors they could in the 100 Color Challenge and are starting Color Field Landscapes.
Kindergarteners and Sixth Grade art buddy guests on Rainbow Day, used the primary colors to mix as many different colors as possible. -Mrs. Cough

BCS Color Days 2026! Let’s celebrate color by wearing clothing in the color of the day… It makes deciding what to wear so much easier!

Members of the BCS Civil Rights team created a bulletin board to share information and art about many different holidays that are celebrated throughout the winter around the world. Learning more about people of different faiths, including their observances and holidays is one way we can celebrate diversity and reinforce that students of all religious and cultural identities should feel a sense of belonging in our BCS school community.
